This project takes a specific form and structure with the word space in focus from the first page of the book Species of Spaces and Other Pieces written by Georges Perec. Perec's original piece explores, observes and offers access to spaces of the author's spatial or cultural immediacies. I see it as a reusable structure and place it into today's context of collective opinions and interests and I utilize the algorithms and technological infrastructure provided by one of the stakeholders in the field. I use the results of Google autocomplete searches to re-engage the effort of the original structure from Perec.
The work is conceived in the form of a script that works as a publicly accessible web page. When a user makes a request by visiting the page, it collects results from popular google searches which contain the word space and at least one other word before or after. Then it composes ten results in the form of the original piece. The work includes a line that indicates the runtime of the script. In the same time the ten lines composition is being shared on pastebin.com which is a popular website for sharing anonymus textual data. The share has a lifetime of 10 minutes and during this it generates an average of 100 views. In 10 minutes after creation each unique piece of work cease to exist.
